Our client sits within financial services, and as a result, they must keep pace with breaking news about policy and regulatory updates. New regulations not only influence the outcomes of our digital strategy but can also lead to innovative . The client requested a communications strategy to ensure both our client and Accenture resources were informed on key policy developments.

Create a policy strategy to guide the political analysis of industry trends, delivery of policy-related strategic communications, and incorporation of policy as an input for improvement recommendations.

The image provided below displays an overview of the policy strategy I developed not only to better inform our clients of breaking news and legislative updates but also to promote informed and policy-driven recommendations that directly impact our digital transformation efforts. When I initially formed this strategy, I quickly gathered all credible inputs, including all congressional announcements and White House memoranda, that would inform our project’s internal and client communications. By considering policy trends, we were able to create a digital transformation strategy to both meet the demands of a highly regulated industry and our client’s goal of providing a world-class customer experience through their digital toolkit.

I monitor, document, and analyze legislative and regulatory developments through news and policy tracking of congressional activity, administration priorities, and industry group advocacy.
Congressional Activity
Includes Senate and House Committee Hearings on Financial Services, Accountability and Oversight, Education, and Appropriations and Budget.

Includes activity, memoranda, and press releases impacting financial services, higher education, and general domestic policy.

Overview of Deliverables
Through the following types of deliverables, I provided regular updates on policy and trends trends in order to both raise awareness and prepare internal and external stakeholders to act with agility on any policy-driven impacts to the client and their digital transformation strategy.
“Tuesday Newsday”
Released bi-weekly to a list of 500+ internal and external stakeholders, I created and owned “Tuesday Newsday,” a newsletter packed with news updates and recently reports broadly related to financial services and domestic policy.
Policy + Hearing Reports
Prepared on a monthly basis for program leadership, my policy and hearing reports outline all major legislative changes and key discussion points and outcomes from congressional hearings. The reports include program implications that could complement and inform any ongoing strategic planning for the year.
Opportunities and Policy Predictors
On a quarterly basis, I review all policy deliverables and meet with leadership to propose product and operational recommendations to enhance our client’s ongoing digital transformation. I also track key policy figures and groups to understand various policy perspectives from both sides of the aisle to ensure our recommendations align with all of our clients’ customer groups.
